Crossroads Neurosurgical was founded in 1979 and Dr. Norvill joined the practice in 1998. Dr. Norvill is a Board Certified neurosurgeon who has had extensive training and experience in complex reconstructive spinal surgeries using instrumentation and spinal fusion and was one of the first neurosurgeons in the South Texas region to be trained in the CHARITE total disc replacement procedure. Dr. Norvill treats many spinal conditions with minimally invasive procedures and is on the training faculty for Kyphon to train other physicians on the kyphoplasty procedure which is a minimally invasive surgical management of spinal compression fractures. Dr. Norvill has personally performed over 575 kyphoplasty procedures and he was among the first group of neurosurgeons to be trained on this type of operation having experience that dates back to 2001. Dr. Norvill also treats numerous other brain and spinal conditions, both surgically and non-surgically, such as those involving trauma, infection and tumors as well as surgical intervention for peripheral nerve abnormalities and other such conditions of the spine such as disc herniations. Dr. Norvill has many years of experience at treating and managing both spinal pathology and brain pathology as a neurosurgeon.
Dr. Norvill is also actively involved in the evaluation and modification of neurosurgical instrumentation and is an independent spinal consultant who designs spinal surgery instrumentation.
